I went to Disneyland on Sunday, for the first time in a couple of months, to test out the new Nikkor 50mm 1.4G lens that I obtained around Christmas. I’ve casually shot a couple of things since getting it, but nothing noteworthy; so I figured that I’d take it out in the evening to practice low-light shooting with it.
The shallow depth of field is something that I need to get used to, as the focus is a little temperamental. This really only becomes a problem when I’m shooting on the run (as to not get trampled by crowds) because if I don’t get the focus just right, it ends up VERY wrong. Overall, I am really having some fun with this lens and would like to do more portraiture shooting with it and take it out for a daytime trip.
